In what may be a major violation of the PNW parent-blogger handbook, Tonya Strickland isn't into hiking … or camping, (she knows, it’s terrible!). But she hopes her knack for adding a twist of forgotten history or a random fun fact to her stories of places to take kids makes up for it. Forever a news-girl at heart, Tonya is a longtime journalist and mom of two who came from traditional print news, where she covered everything from late-night city council meetings to quirky community figures. Now, she writes for funsies on her blog Two in Tow & On the Go and the online newspaper Gig Harbor Now. When she’s not discovering new gems or describing old faves in new ways, you’ll probably find Tonya eating a Butterfinger Blizzard in her car (with the heater on) while pondering the age-old mystery of how other parents seem to have actual hobbies. Tonya lives in Gig Harbor with her awesome husband Bowen, their cool kids Clara and Wyatt, three cats, 10 chickens, and a bajillion Squishmallows.
