Thirteen high school students from across the state will advance from classroom, school, and regional competitions to meet at the 2017 Washington State Poetry Out Loud Final. Each student will recite poems they have chosen from an anthology of over 950 classic and contemporary works; after three rounds of recitations, one student will be named the Washington State Champion, and will go on to represent our state at the National Finals in Washington D.C. in April.
The panel of judges will include Washington State Poet Laureate Tod Marshall, who will also take the stage as part of this event. Music will be provided by the Kareem Kandi Band.
