Everyone is invited to sit down and give thanks together at a multicultural, community Thanksgiving potluck from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at The Seattle Public Library, Lake City Branch, 12501 28th Ave. N.E., 206-684-7518.
Library events are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Free parking is available in the underground garage.
Children, teens and adults are invited to bring a food dish to share that they would eat at Thanksgiving, or at any other harvest festival they might celebrate. There will also be a Thanksgiving-themed craft, story time, rhymes and games for kids.
This Thanksgiving potluck is inspired by "Duck for Turkey Day" by Jacqueline Jules, a children's book about a girl whose family didn't eat turkey for Thanksgiving. The potluck will celebrate the diversity of our "nation of immigrants."
