The Ethnic Seattle Holiday Pop-up Market will be centralized at Hing Hay Park, 423 Maynard Avenue South, Seattle, and include seven stores, cafes and a museum within a four-block radius, presenting holiday packages, food, drink and more. Participating member retailers will be indicated by balloons and poinsettias at their storefronts. Activities include:
· Live Ice Carving, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Creative Ice will be carving a holiday sleigh from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Hing Hay Park. There will be hot chocolate, maps, and information available. Shoppers are welcome to take photos on the sleigh following completion of the carving.
· Selfies with Elfies, 1–4 p.m.
Look for roaming “elves” handing out candy canes, maps of participating shop locations and the food walk menu. Shoppers can be entered to win prizes by posting a selfie with elfies on the Ethnic Seattle Instagram page.
· Food Walk, 3–6 p.m.
Participating restaurants in Chinatown-ID have assembled a lineup of $2-4 menu items for noshes to sustain the shopping frenzy. Items include dim sum, bites of Asian barbecue, kahlua pork, and more.
· Participating Businesses
Similar to a holiday bazaar, businesses from ethnically diverse neighborhoods, including the Chinatown International District, Little Saigon, Rainier Valley, White Center, and the Central District will participate. Ethnic Seattle will have a collection of packages from local, minority-owned businesses at its own pop-up shop at Hing Hay Park. Packages can be taken home the day of the pop-up or shipped out.
· Weekly Prize Drawings
Shoppers who engage with Ethnic Seattle on Facebook or Instagram will be entered to win weekly prize drawings through December 23.
