Help spread the message that “We are All Shipmates” as the Sound Experience community joins together to prepare the 104-year-old schooner Adventuress for another year of sailing and inspiring the public about Puget Sound. Volunteers are invited to help with a variety of maintenance projects such as sanding, varnishing, and painting under the supervision of the Winter Crew. All experience levels are welcome as there are projects for all skill levels. Those participating in the Winter Work Weekend can volunteer for a day or stay the whole weekend.
Adventuress is located dockside at Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend, WA. Each day begins at 9:00 am for breakfast and wraps up at about 4:00 pm. Minors are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Vegetarian meals as well as coffee and tea are provided; for those staying overnight, a limited number of bunks are available on a first-request basis. Puget Sound’s environmental tall ship Adventuress is owned and operated by nonprofit Sound Experience with a mission to educate, inspire, and empower an inclusive community to make a difference for the future of our marine environment. Adventuress is one of only twenty-five National Historic Landmarks in Washington State.
