ARC Dance is offering audiences the chance to observe two working rehearsals this summer as they prepare for Autumn 47, which opens in October. The first Sneak Peek takes place Thursday, July 20 and features the professional dancers of ARC Dance and choreographer David Fernandez. Mr. Fernandez is based in New York City and he has choreographed dance works for the New York City Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem Ensemble, Sacramento Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. As a dancer he performed with Chicago's Boitsov Classical Ballet, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ballet Theater of Chicago, and he also performed at the 2004 Lincoln Center Festival alongside Mikhail Baryshnikov in “The Doctor and the Patient". Mr. Fernandez will be choreographing a world premiere for ARC Dance.
This is an exciting opportunity to watch a rehearsal and see what goes into preparing for a show. Audience members will also have the chance to ask questions following the rehearsal as well as meet the dancers and the choreographer at the reception immediately following. The Sneak Peek is recommended for school age children, young dancers, non-dancers, dance lovers, and adults! Tickets are available at www.arcdance.org.
