Author Event: Janel Kolby. 'Winterfolk'

Calendar/Event Details

Seattle poet and novelist Janel Kolby’s Winterfolk takes us into the world of a teen girl who has lived with her father in Seattle’s infamous homeless encampment for five years. When the camp is threatened by a sweep, she convinces her friend to take her into the city she lives near but doesn’t know. Parents and teens are invited to join us for an evening with author Janel Kolby for a reading and discussion of Winterfolk

"Skillfully balances hard realism with hope. A thoughtful dive into a far-too-often-overlooked part of society." –Kirkus Reviews

“With its gorgeous prose, big heart, and sophisticated interplay between fantasy and reality, Winterfolk gently shows us that hope is its own kind of magic. Janel Kolby is a visionary, electrifying writer.” –Anne Ursu
