Bellevue Chamber Chorus Presents “Gloria! Renaissance and Baroque Masterworks for Christmas”

Calendar/Event Details

Enrich your holidays with the resplendent sounds of the master composers of the 16th – 18th centuries, as Bellevue Chamber Chorus (directed by Fredrick Lokken) celebrates the opening of their thirty-fifth anniversary season!  Antonio Vivaldi’s exciting and ever-popular Gloria is the highlight of the evening, featuring soloists Natalie Ingrisano, soprano, and Melissa Plagemann, mezzo-soprano, accompanied by organ and chamber orchestra. The program also includes the stirring Magnificat of Giovanni Pergolesi, and other jubilant works by Andrea Gabrieli (Angelus ad pastores ait), Heinrich Schütz (Ein Kind ist uns geboren), Hans Leo Hassler (Verbum caro factum est), Peter Phillips (O beatum et sacrosanctum diem), and Jan Sweelinck (Hodie Christus natus est).

Soprano Natalie Ingrisano has enjoyed performing as a soloist, chamber singer, and professional chorister in the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and Italy.  Her 2017-2018 season included performances on the Pacific MusicWorks series “Bach's Lunch” and “Sanctuary in the City”, and the Charpentier Te Deum and Vivaldi Magnificat with Cantaré Vocal Ensemble.

Melissa Plagemann, mezzo-soprano, enjoys a busy and vibrant performing schedule throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. In the 2018-19 season, she returns to the Everett Philharmonic to perform the Liebestod from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, and Symphony Tacoma for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
