Join us for special family programs starting at noon in celebration of Earth Day. Based on the exhibition Into the Deep, three hands-on activities will offer visitors the chance to create and explore themes of nature and the environment. There will be a station to make animals out of recycled magazines, students from UWT teaching about color-changing animals and symmetry found in nature, and the chance to upcycle old glass. To take part in the upcycling, bring an old glass, bottle, or other hand sized glass object to be sandblasted with a pattern of your own creation.
At 3pm, tour Into the Deep with curator Katie Buckingham, and meet some of the artists included in the exhibition, who will be on-site to talk with you about their inspirations and passion for all things within our oceans.
