The Seattle Choral Company’s 43rd season opens with a dazzling holiday concert featuring the works of English composers Ralph Vaughan Williams, Cecilia McDowall, and Sir John Rutter, and promising a heartwarming celebration of the season.
John Rutter’s 1990 Magnificat bursts with vibrant energy, weaving medieval poetry and Latin American flair into a thrilling seven movements. Cecilia McDowall’s Christus Natus Est breathes new life into familiar carols with bold, refreshing harmonies, moving effortlessly from tenderness to pure joy.
And Vaughan Williams’ ever-popular Fantasia on Christmas Carols blends charming English folk tunes, culminating with ringing bells and a wish for a joyful new year. As always, the concert concludes with a candlelit rendition of Silent Night.
This is a concert that will stay with you long after the final note. Don’t miss out!
