Presented by Doctors Without Borders, Forced From Home is an interactive exhibition and tour that takes visitors beyond the headlines of the global refugee crisis. With an experienced aid worker as their guide, visitors navigate a 10,000-square-foot, outdoor installation designed to convey some of the challenges confronting a person forced to flee. Throughout the tour, visitors engage with stories and materials gathered from refugee camps, sea rescue missions, and emergency medical projects. The immersive experience also incorporates virtual reality technology. Participants can see and hear the stories of displaced individuals and families living in Iraq, Lebanon, Mexico, Tanzania, and South Sudan in 360-degree and virtual reality film.
Forced From Home seeks to convey the decisions that those who are displaced face each day and the humanitarian assistance offered to them by Doctors Without Borders. The exhibition provides a unique educational experience for adults and children ages 12 and older.
Doctors Without Borders is currently seeking local volunteers to help with the daily operations of the exhibition onsite. For more information, please email volunteers@newyork.msf.org.
