Join the Early Music Youth Academy's young players — middle and high school students playing Baroque violin, cello, and viola da gamba — as they explore Baroque style from its origins and on, including works by Claudia Rusca, Carlo Farina, Andrea Falconieri, Johann Rosenmuller, and Georg Philipp Telemann. You'll hear the personable conversations of the polyphonic fantasia evolve into the theatrical sinfonia, the mesmerizing ciaccona, and the elegant sonata. This 40-minute program is directed by SHAK founder Shulamit Kleinerman, early violin, and features special guest artist Jillon Stoppells Dupree, harpsichord.
There is no charge for admission; free-will donations at the door offset the cost of SHAK's donor-supported programming. The church is accessible, with on-street parking and a small parking lot at the north end of the building.
