The Chinese Information and Service Center (CISC) Environmental Protection event gives families an opportunity to connect with nature and each other through games and education. Visitors can participate in various activities aimed at building sustainable habits and facilitating environmental learning. Children can create their own crafts using recycled materials, practice proper disposal of waste through interactive games and learn about marine life conservation from photos and videos. Through this event, CISC hopes to show families that even small changes to their lifestyles can promote real change and improvement to the environment.
CISC, which supports Washington immigrants and their families, will host its first event, an Environmental Protection Event, on Wednesday, August 23rd at CISC’s Renton office.
The event will be open to local families with children ages 0 to 5 and will focus on teaching young kids and families the health benefits of protecting the environment. Activities will include:
- Nature walks
- Sustainable DIY crafts
- Video and photo content on plastic waste
- Educational games
