Join the 2023 Jack-O'-Lantern Jubilee and your family will take home candy, great memories, and more from the Y!

The whole family is invited to our Jack-O'-Lantern Jubilee starting on October 26. We’ll be hosting pumpkin parades and spooky good times for families across our community centers to enjoy all things fall. Featuring frightening face painting, monster mash dance parties, arts and crafts, bounce houses, and more, your pack of ghouls and goblins is sure to have a frightening good time.

Join our FREE jubilee and you could take home more than candy and memories! You can enter for a chance to win a FREE week of Winter Break or Spring Break Camp at your local Y!

Join the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee at the Tom Taylor Family Y, a free and fun event that’s open to the community!   

Participate in games and activities, fill your trick-or-treat bag with sweets, and have a spooky good time with your friends and neighbors.  

Come dressed in your Halloween best! Join in the fun from our scary number of options for the family! 

SCHEDULE: 

4:55 | Opening ceremony featuring a kazoo band (main gym) 

5:00 | Jubilee begins 

5:30 | Clown talent show 

5:45 | Monster Mash dance contest 

6:00 | Costume contest parade and all carved pumpkins due for judging 

6:30 | Prizes awarded for pumpkin carving, costumes, giant pumpkin and candy corn 

ACTIVITIES: 

  • Cider and Pumpkin Seed Chex Mix  
  • Contest registration/voting: Guess the weight of the giant pumpkin, costume contest, candy corn in a jar guessing, community pumpkin carving contest  
  • Scare hair: Spooky hair styling with colored spray, webs, spiders, etc. 
  • Face painting booth 
  • Touch boxes: Sensory boxes with hidden tricks 
  • Witch crafts: Spooky handprint art, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating 
  • Cauldron science: Mixing vinegar, baking soda with glitter and watch the flow 
  • Witch hat ring toss: Throw rings over cones painted like witch hats for a prize 
  • Trick-or-treat fishing: Fishing pole with a clip, fisher gets a prize of tricks or treats 
  • Pumpkin putt-putt: Putt-putt golf through pumpkins and other spooky things 
  • Scarecrow photo op: Display with scarecrows and live actor scarecrows 
  • Werewolf walk: Optional scare zone walk through (all ages) 
  • Guess the weight of the giant pumpkin  
  • Guess how many candy corns are in the jar to win the jar filled with candy corn 
  • Spooky booth passport: Fill out your passport by visiting all booths for a prize 
  • Local community partner stations featuring fun fall activities 
  • Youth Gym:  
  • Popcorn 
  • Trick-or-treat trot: Musical chairs to choose a cake (guess if the cake is real or fake) 
  • Oddity tent: Bizarre art and reptile display from Camp Seymour 
  • Circus acts: Magicians, strong man, hula hoops, juggling, etc. 
  • Spooky clowns scare zone: Optional walk through with scare actors (all ages) 
  • Fortune teller tent: Get a funny fortune/palm reading 
  • Snake tunnel clown: Not-so spooky crawl through tunnel for little kids 
  • Clown basketball game: Toss a small basketball into a basket held by a clown 
  • Clown duck game: Pick a floating duck to reveal a number for a prize bag 
  • Big hammer clown game: Test your strength by hitting the target to ring the bell 
  • Monster Mash dance contest for two age groups (3-10 and 11+) 
  • Photo booth: Green screen with digital photo opportunities by Resurrection Church
