Shadow puppets have been used in Indonesia and Malaysia for hundreds of years as a storytelling vehicle for the theater known as wayang. The puppets themselves can be 3-D or flat. They are an art form themselves, although they are often not even seen by an audience, except as shadows behind an illuminated screen.
In this program, Lisa Keller will help you make your own shadow puppets using magazine photos, file folders, glue sticks and brass fasteners.
