Northwest Railway Museum Debuts Steam Locomotive 924

Calendar/Event Details

We're putting the "railroad" into the commemoration of Railroad Days! The Northwest Railway Museum’s Steam Locomotive 924 will make its public debut on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m., amid virtual Railroad Days festivities. (You can see this locomotive in real life, though.)

The 1899 built locomotive will run between the Railway History Campus and the 1890 Snoqualmie Depot under its own steam power for the first time in over 40 years. Find out more about locomotive 924 and its restoration here.

Sightseers are encouraged to watch this momentous event while practicing safe and healthy social distancing and mask usage. There are numerous parking spots along the tracks in downtown Snoqualmie to watch from private vehicles as well.

Special commemorative prints of Locomotive 924 by artist J. Craig Thorpe will be available for sale in the Snoqualmie Depot Bookstore.
