Join us for an experiential educational opportunity at Kubota Garden designed for children ages 7-12. Learn about the BIG 5 pollinators (bees, butterflies, beetles, hoverflies, and wasps).
Insect ecologist Chloé Markovitz will start by explaining how to use insect vials then guide the group to 2-3 spots in the garden to catch, observe, and release insects. Attendees will show-and-tell what they saw. Chloé and the volunteers can help younger children catch insects.
At the end, Chloé will recap what insects were seen that day and how attendees can support them in the future. Every safari is unique based on the age of the attendees and the insects seen that day.
This event is free, but registration is required, limited to a total of 20 children.
