Restoration at Me-Kwa-Mooks Park

Calendar/Event Details

Me-Kwa-Mooks Park is a hidden gem in Seattle’s parks and open spaces. This West Seattle natural area occupies a unique historic and ecological niche and faces Puget Sound. Unfortunately, ecological conditions within the Park are heavily affected by substantial infestations of invasive species, primarily English ivy, that threaten native plants and habitat. Volunteers will join the Greenway Trust and project partners to improve ecological conditions within the Park and local water quality by clearing invasive weeds from and restoring the park through the planting of native trees and shrubs (with a focus on native conifers).
