See Seattle’s First #IceBoxChallenge “Ice Reveal” in Pioneer Square

Calendar/Event Details

Climate change on your mind? Participate in the unveiling of Seattle’s 1st Ice Box Challenge “Ice Reveal” on Thursday, September 28th at 12:15pm sharp and learn about how we can build climate hope. During this year’s Seattle Design Festival, Passive House NW and NK Architects with support from local businesses and thought leaders constructed two mini-houses in Pioneer Square – one built to standard building codes and the other built to Passive House standards. Inside each box is 1,200 pounds exposed to some warm September weather for 20 days. Join the community and decision-makers such as Jessica Finn Coven, Office of Sustainability and Environment and Patti Southard, the program manager for “GreenTools” green building program in King County to kick-off a community-wide conversation about how we can come together to create climate hope.
