Spectrum of Color: Rainbow City Performing Arts

Calendar/Event Details

Join us for an evening of colors and sounds! The Rainbow City Concert Band and Orchestra present music inspired by the spectrum of colors that illuminate our daily lives. You will experience an evening of wonderful music including the seminal classic, Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin and a performance by flutist Dr. Sara Bassingthwaite in a movement of the flute concerto, Silver Lining by Frank Tichelli. Additionally, the concert includes a world premiere of a work by composer Caleb Gomes, commissioned with funding from 4culture, in celebration of 25 years of building community through music.

The concert band and orchestra are two of the many ensembles in Rainbow City Performing Arts, a nonprofit with a mission of increasing equity and visibility of LGBTQIA+ people. Performing many styles of music, they focus their performance on music of marginalized composers and themes that uplift through diverse expression of music.

You will love the music, learn about new emerging and diverse composers, and be a part of our community on this special night. Pick up a ticket now with lower price seating also available for youth, students, teachers, and seniors.
