The IN THE SPIRIT Arts Market and Northwest Native Festival is an annual summer celebration of Native arts and culture. The festival offers a variety of activities for all ages, including art exhibitions, a fashion show, live performances, artisan vendors, interactive activities, and food. This free community event is hosted collaboratively by the Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Museum of Glass, all offering free admission for the day.

The Exhibition – July 20, 2024 to September 29, 2024

This annual juried exhibition features contemporary artwork showcasing traditional craftsmanship and innovative modern styles, offering a wide representation of Native art today. The exhibition includes diverse mediums such as beadwork, painting, carving, glass, basketry, textiles, mixed media, and digital works. Each piece on display is accompanied by an artist’s statement, providing guests with valuable insight into cultural context and influences.
