“The goal is to introduce different styles of exercise and wellness ideas to people so they can find ways of leading healthier lifestyles,” DeGolier said.
Activities and workshops will fill eight of STAR Center’s rooms throughout the morning, with four of the rooms devoted to fitness programs, all regularly offered at STAR Center. Different types of activity will be featured in each of the four fitness rooms. They’ll be grouped as dance; high-intensity interval training; low-intensity and senior-oriented classes; or yoga and mind-body classes. Also, martial arts demonstrations will be open to both children and adults.
In STAR Center’s demonstration kitchen, a series of five, half-hour cooking classes will be offered in succession, including two healthy cooking classes presented by Kaiser Permanente.
Holistic health presentations include acupuncture, qigong, acupressure tapping, and massage.
