A celebration of Swing from Tacoma’s own SWING REUNION ORCHESTRA (SRO). A dynamic SRO pays tribute to American’s swing era of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Go back in time when Big Band jazz was the pulse of American culture. Young adults crowded the dance clubs across the country dancing the Jitterbug and Lindy Hop to the music of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and smooth vocals of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
