TeenTechWA Techathon

Calendar/Event Details

The TeenTech WA Techathon (teentechwa.org/techathon/) is an annual event hosted by the Bush School for middle and high school students. Our Techathon is a spin on a civic hackathon, except made more accessible for students of all skill levels. The students are given some prompts relating to modern-day issues of the world and spend the day working on developing an idea or prototype to help solve one of the issues. They can also tackle another issue if they prefer. Mentors from the engineering and computer science fields will be available all day to help students with every step of the process. Students will find the best way to communicate their idea, and at the end of the day, pitch their ideas to industry professionals who judge their products. Students who win qualify for the TeenTech World Pitch, which you can read about at www.teentechsf.org. We recommend you come in with a team of 2-5, but you can work alone if you prefer.
