Join the Gates Foundation Discovery Center and Civic Commons as we kick off a new virtual series tied to our exhibit Enduring COVID-19: Stories from our Transforming World. Facing Forward will focus on stories of communities, individuals and organizations coming together and moving forward to end the pandemic.
It has never been more apparent that we are all connected globally. As Dr. Solomon Zewdu, Deputy Director of the Gates Foundation’s Africa office says “COVID anywhere, is COVID everywhere”. Join us for a virtual conversation as we bring health leaders and scientists together to discuss the connection between local and global efforts and how research, strategies and systems are working together to end the pandemic. This program will be moderated by writer and storyteller Rosette Royale and include the following speakers:
- Paula Houston, Chief Equity Officer for UW Medicine in the Office of Healthcare Equity
- Pavitra Roychoudhury, Computational Biologist, University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
- Dr. Solomon Zewdu, Deputy Director, Africa office, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Discover ways to get involved and strategies to get through this together. See you on Feb. 17!
Note: Minors (under 18 years old) must have their parent/legal guardian register on behalf of them.
Captioning and ASL will be provided for this virtual event.
