Virtual - Holi Hai! It's Holi! Spring Festival of Colors from South Asia

Join the Burke Museum & Hindi Time Kids live to experience the South Asian Festival of Colors called Holi! Holi signifies the arrival of Spring and is celebrated with vibrant color play, delicious desserts, song and dance and signifies purity and victory of good over evil.

This event will be an immersive cultural experience from South Asia, where children will create colorful handmade Holi Cards using craft items easily available at home (please see list below), enjoy a Holi story time with puppet show, and sing songs in the Hindi language about Holi.

The Burke Museum is so excited to partner with Hindi Time Kids to bring you this program!

Craft materials list:

1. 3 sheets A4 Size Paper (1 cardstock preferred) white or color
2. Scissors
3. Washable finger paints and paintbrush (bright colors preferred)
4. Ruler
5. Glue and tape
6. Pencil, crayons, color pencils, and markers
7. Optional: Colorful Washi tape

Event date/time: March 20, 2022, 2:00-3:00 pm

This is a live stream event and will take place on Vimeo, an online video player and live streaming platform. After registering, you will receive a link to access the event via email. 

Please note:

  • This is a public event.
  • Those 13 or younger must be registered by and accompanied “to” the event by an adult. 
  • Chat box questions/comments and screen name will appear to other participants during the live stream. We ask that you do not use the chat during the event if you do not consent to the sharing of this information.
