The award-winning documentary “Wilmington on Fire” makes its Washington State debut at The Northwest African American Museum to commemorate the 140th year of the end of Reconstruction, March, 30 1877. “Wilmington on Fire” is a documentary about the 1898 massacre in Wilmington, NC that unseated a multi-racial elected government which led to Jim Crow Segregation.
After the screening, director Christopher Everett will share his experiences on making the film and discuss his perspective on the 1898 massacre, its impact on the nation as a whole and examine the event in our current political climate.
