In this Feb. 7 ParentEd Talks webinar, Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., shared how couples can maintain love and passion in what she has termed a “peer marriage.” Drawing on more than 40 years of research in the fields of intimacy and sexuality, she shared what makes a happy couple, and depicted the profound intimacy, mutual respect and deep friendship that can be achieved in a relationship between equals.
About the speaker
American sexologist Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree from Washington University and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Yale University. She is an author, researcher and television personality, and has published 25 books on the subjects of love, sexuality, intimacy and commitment, including “Love Between Equals: How Peer Marriage Really Works.” Her newest book, “Relationship Rx: Prescriptions for Lasting Love and Deeper Connection” is co-authored with Jessica Griffin, Psy.D., and comes out on Feb. 13, 2023. Schwartz currently teaches at the University of Washington.
