Carissa Tozzi and Gena Mann — Developmental Delays and Sensory Needs
When moms Carissa Tozzi and Gena Mann couldn’t find an informative place to shop for toys, decor and fashion that supported their children’s development and sensory needs, they founded Wolf + Friends in 2016.
The inspiration for their design-inspired place to shop online and learn about unique developmental needs: Tozzi’s son Wolf, who has sensory sensitivities, and Mann’s two sons who are on the autism spectrum.
While running Wolf + Friends has shown Tozzi and Mann how supportive this community is, they’ve also learned how difficult (and important) it can be for parents who have kids with developmental delays or learning differences to find like-minded friends.
Of course, they’ve also fallen in love with a few of the items they sell, including sensory swings for calm and relaxation; wobble chairs for focus and building core strength; and sensory-friendly hoodies that help filter out environmental noises and give children a sense of protection and security.
