VIDEO: How to Make Meatball Sub Sliders With Your Kids

Perfect for a hearty dinnertime this fall or winter, these meatball sub sliders come from PCC Natural Markets.

Get the details Chef Jackie and her two Healthy Kids Cook helpers, Lauren and Rylan, as they visit Macrina Bakery to pick up some fresh bread.

Meatball Sub Sliders

How you make them:

  1. In a bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, onions, Parmesan, garlic, egg, parsley, salt and pepper.

  2. Shape into 1-inch meatballs.

  3. Add meatballs to marinara sauce and simmer until cooked through, about 30 minutes.

  4. Preheat broiler with a rack 6-inches from the element.

  5. Place bottom halves of sliders on a baking sheet.

  6. Top with 3 meatballs and sprinkle with cheese.

  7. Broil until cheese is melted.

  8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and top with remaining sliders.

  9. Broil an additional 2 minutes, to heat bread through.

  10. Serve immediately.
