Celebrating the Legacy of Malcolm X on his birthday, May 19th! 

Let's celebrate what would have been the 98th birthday of civil and human rights leader, Malcolm X. What we are taught about Malcolm X is a mere fraction of the full story about who he truly was. The museum will include arts and crafts for the entire family, a live interactive story time, KIP book giveaway, and a film screening of "Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali. Museum admission is free starting at 3PM and enjoy food from Soul Fusion from 4-7PM.

We look forward to celebrating his legacy with the community, join us to hear the full story. 

Event Schedule:

3 p.m.: Free museum admission starts
4 - 6 p.m.: Malcolm X Day arts and craft activities and book giveaway
5 - 6 p.m.: Interactive Story Time
4 - 7 p.m.: Soul food from Soul Fusion food truck
6 - 8 p.m.: Documentary Screening of "Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali"

The documentary tells the untold story extraordinary and ultimately tragic story of the friendship between two of the most iconic figures of the 20th century: Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali. Directed by Marcus A. Clarke, the film is based on the book Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship Between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X; by Randy Roberts and Johnny Smith.
