Science, Nature & A Biscuit - Beavers

Beavers are well known for their ability to create pond and wetland complexes that provide many benefits for aquatic species. Beavers also create many benefits for birds, however, and they may rely more heavily on these benefits as climate change increasingly alters bird habitat. Benjamin Dittbrenner, Executive Director of Beavers Northwest and Aquatic Ecologist at the University of Washington will talk about how beavers are transforming the landscape to create more water, more wetlands, and increased ecological resilience against climate change. Join us as we explore how beavers have unwittingly become a best friend to birds, and many other animals including us.
