The mission of SeaburySquared: The Center for Gifted Education, is to expand educational opportunities, support and resources for gifted children and their families in the South Puget Sound region. We offer year-round Seabury-style after-school, weekend and vacation educational experiences for youngsters through eighth grade and – all open to the community.

Build a Book in a Tin 

9 a.m to noon; grades 2-4; $75

12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; grades 5-7; $75

Join Tacoma author Mary Boone for a class that’s equal parts writing and visual arts exploration. We’ll start by creating and revising short stories. Then we’ll make those stories into tiny handmade books that fit inside mint tins that we decorate using collage. This is a fast-paced, hands-on workshop that’s appropriate for all skill levels.

Comics & Characters 

9 a.m to noon; grades 5-7; $75

12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; grades 2-4; $75

Join Tacoma artist and Seabury art teacher Angela Larsen to learn to use your stories, dreams, and ideas to create art zines and comics. Learn how to develop a character, storyline, and create your own artist comic!

* Due to planning and material considerations, there is no late registration or waitlist. Enroll now to guarantee a spot!

 * There is a $10 discount for enrollment in both sections.

 * Students staying for both sections will have a supervised lunch/recess. Bring a sack lunch.
