Flip the switch on this holiday season at the annual DSA/MID Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Nov. 24. We’ll kick off the festivities with local live music, costumed characters and giveaways starting at 3:30 p.m. It all leads up to the main event: lighting the 45-foot holiday tree, followed by a spectacular fireworks show!
Pre-show: 3:30-5 p.m.
Emceed by Shellie Hart from WARM 106.9, join us for the sounds of the season as we count down to the lighting of the tree. From the Pike Street Drummer to the upbeat sounds of Holiday Harmony POP a cappella carolers and more, there’s something for everyone at this pre-show event.
Tree Lighting Celebration: 5-7 p.m.
Starting at 5 p.m., emcees Ursula Reutin and Micki Gamez of KIRO Newsradio will lead the crowd in ringing in the season as we light the downtown tree, the historical Macy’s Star and a spectacular fireworks show. Then, we’ll keep the holiday vibe going with breathtaking performances from the African American Cultural Ensemble and motown vocal trio The Jewel Tones.
